Wishmaster is a 1997 horror film directed by Robert Kurtzman. The plot centers on an ancient, malevolent djinn, or genie, who is accidentally released from a gemstone by an unsuspecting young woman named Alexandra. Once awakened, the djinn has the power to grant wishes, but with a dark twist, turning each wish into a nightmare. As he grants more wishes, he moves closer to unleashing his fellow djinn upon the world. Alexandra must find a way to outwit the djinn and stop his sinister plan before it's too late. It stars Tammy Lauren, Kane Hodder, Andrew Divoff, Tony Todd, and Robert Englund. The film was followed by three sequels.
