Troll is a 1986 cult dark fantasy film directed by John Carl Buechler and produced by Charles Band of Empire Pictures, starring Noah Hathaway, Michael Moriarty, Shelley Hack, Jenny Beck, and Sonny Bono. The film was shot in Italy in the Stabilimenti Cinematografici Pontini studios near Rome. It is unrelated to Troll 2 and Troll 3. The film did become a cult classic and spawned its notorious but unrelated sequel Troll 2.
